Giving to the Foundation

Your generosity enables Mercy Foundation to help provide our community with health care for the under- and uninsured, services for the homeless, educational programs for youth and adults with learning challenges, and housing solutions for the poor and elderly.

Your philanthropic gift may be designated to a specific fund, project or program. Or, you may designate your gift to the Area of Greatest Need, which enables Mercy Foundation to take advantage of unexpected opportunities or meet necessary challenges in a timely manner. We offer several ways to contribute outright:

Cash gifts can be made through credit card transactions, outright cash or personal checks made payable to Mercy Foundation. Pledge or promissory note contributions over a term of up to ten years are also an option to make meaningful giving easier.

Include Mercy Foundation in Your Will
Express your commitment to helping the most vulnerable in our community by remembering Mercy Foundation in your will.

Gifts of Securities—stocks, bonds, mutual funds and other securities— provide considerable tax advantages when transferred to Mercy Foundation before they are sold. By giving appreciated securities to Mercy Foundation, you can avoid capital gain taxes that will be due as a result of its sale. To make a gift of electronic stock to Mercy Foundation, please complete the Electronic Stock Gift Transfer Form and notify us prior to transferring stock.

Gifts of Real Estate, including home, farm, second home, apartment or commercial building, shopping center or undeveloped land, enable Mercy Foundation to make significant investments in the works of Mercy. It can also provide you with valuable income tax and estate tax savings.

Matching gifts by corporations that match employee donations.

In-Kind Gifts are non-cash gifts and can be a non-monetary contribution of equipment, supplies, corporate services/facilities, professional services or other property that will benefit Mercy programs and services. In-kind gifts are tax-deductible. Please contact Mercy Foundation to learn if the proposed non-cash contribution would be appropriate.
