In celebration of its 10th anniversary, please support the

John A. Schafer, MD Multiple Sclerosis Achievement Center Endowment Fund

Grant funds provided the startup capital and partial operational support for the initial phase of the Achievement Center, however, additional support is needed now to ensure that it can continue providing vital services to all those who benefit from their programs. While the Achievement Center is making a profound difference for those in the Greater Sacramento area living with MS, the actual cost of providing wellness programs is greater than the fees paid by participants and we must rely on philanthropy to make up the shortfall each year.

Thanks to the philanthropic support of Dr. John Schafer and other generous community members, an endowment has been established to secure the long term sustainability of this important program. Growing this endowment will provide another opportunity for donors to help ensure the vital programs offered through the Achievement Center are available to individuals diagnosed with MS in the future.

Multiple sclerosis is a real, everyday struggle to so many in our Sacramento region. Your philanthropic support can make it possible for them and their families to get the help they so urgently need and deserve for years to come.

Dr. John A. Schafer dedicated his medical career to neurology, with a specific focus on caring for those with multiple sclerosis. Thanks largely to his efforts and commitment, Dignity Health’s MS Achievement Center opened in February 2014. Since that time it has provided life-affirming therapeutic and expert wellness care for its approximately 100 members, and hundreds more support partners and loved ones.
