Blankets to Bring Warmth and Comfort to Patients at Mercy Hospital of Folsom

For patients staying overnight in our wonderful hospital, volunteers visit their rooms with a comfort cart and offer a healthy snack, warm beverage, kind word, and heartfelt connection to brighten someone’s stay.

Inspired by an idea from hospital volunteer Shohini C.—a busy high school junior who donates three hours each week to provide care to hospital patients, families and visitors—Mercy Foundation invites you to donate now to add blankets to the supplies on our comfort carts.

Thanks to your generosity, these blankets will bring warmth and comfort, and you’ll be sharing your humankindness with patients who will appreciate the thoughtful, caring gift.

Using your employee ID number, log into ESS and click on “Bookmarks” (upper left)
Then select “Employee Giving” then “ESS Employee Giving”
Click on “ADD DONATION” and select a “Pay Option”
From the Foundation drop-down menu, select “Mercy Foundation (Rancho Cordova)”
Enter number of hours or dollar amount of gift and click on “Continue” through screens
Enter your recognition preference
You can choose to “Honor” someone by clicking button and entering name (when honoring someone internal, notification is not necessary)
Enter “Purpose Restriction” (area to designate your gift)
Click “Update” to complete your donation

NOTE: Your paycheck stub acts as your official tax document for donations.
